Take A Stroll Through Historic Downtown Muscatine
Muscatine’s Annual Hometown Holiday Stroll is scheduled for Friday, December 4th and begins at 6:00 PM. Merchants will welcome visitors and shoppers with special offers and fun family entertainment. The Community Christmas Tree will be lit for the first time during the event. Santa will be strolling along Second Street, as well, to delight believers of all ages. Bald Eagles Winter Along Muscatine’s Shore
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimate that 2,500 American Bald Eagles winter along the shores of the Upper Mississippi. Lock and Dam 6, near Muscatine, is a great place to watch the Bald Eagles hunt for food in the open water surrounding the Lock and Dam. The majestic eagles can also be seen from Riverside Park in Historic Downtown Muscatine.
Hot Piano Tunes & Cool Sights!
Muscatine County Arts Council presents the 16th Annual Eagles and Ivories Concert Series Weekend January 29,30 & 30. Many special events are planned for the weekend including Ragtime and Boogie-Woogie piano concerts, a Bald Eagle watch, music symposiums, a church supper, and an After Hours event held in Pearl Plaza.
The Eagles and Ivories concert series features solo artists Brent Watkins, Marty Mincer, Bill Edwards and Adam Swanson. The group, Ivory and Gold, with Jeff and Anne Barnhart and Danny Coots, will perform as well. Two local bands, the Mad Creek Mudcats and the Just 4 Fun Band, will perform, too.
